Drafting is the process of turning ideas of how things should be constructed into technical drawings.

These drawings which are based upon sketches and calculations made by engineers, surveyors, designers, or scientist provide visual guidelines such as dimensions, materials, finishes, fixtures, etc to be used and procedures to be followed to build everything from manufactured products such as spacecrafts, watercrafts, automobiles, industrial machinery and structures such as residential homes, and office, retail, medical, industrial, warehouse buildings to oil and gas pipelines.
